Storm Damage.
Cost of storm damage repairs starts at $150.00 for walkable roofs and go up according to roof style. We will replace as many as 25 shingles, refasten as many as 25 shingles and check the entire roof area for other issue's such as damage to flashings, ventilation, siding, gutters, etc.
Any additional problems found will be put in writing and presented to you for approval before we do the added work.
Normally any roof that receives more damage than shown above is an indication of extreme storms, poor installation or material failure and will require much more work than simply replacing or refastening a few shingles. In these cases we will assist you in your dealings with the Insurance Company / Material Manufacturer.
There have been numerous studies done on residential asphalt/fiberglas shingles over the past few decades. These studies have shown the average 30 year shingle will fail (atleast in part) in the time frame of 15 too 20 years. The most common reasons for this pre-mature failure: <> Poor installation. With poor workmanship issues you can do very little 'in most cases'. <> Improper roofing ventilation. Roofing ventilation situations are correctable and normally at only hundreds of dollars, not thousands. <> Lack of routine maintenance after installed. Routine 'common maintenance' in many cases can be done by the home owner themselves or a local handyman.
Recommended Schedule For Routine/Common Maintenance*: 1) Twice per year in a wooded area. 2) Twice per year in a high wind area. 3) Once per year if neither 1 nor 2 apply to your area.
*If your roof was installed properly, you can get a way with less frequent maintenance, but your roof and gutters still collect debris through out the year. Thusly, routine maintenance are a very important part in achieving the full life-span of your roofing system.
